Tonight
I made a wonderfully rich slice using carob powder. Carob seems to be
much better and healthier to work with than regular cocoa powder as it
requires less sweeteners to curb the bitterness you get from raw cocoa
powder, yet it still has that nutty chocolatey flavour we go to when
we're looking for a little dessert.
As per usual I started out with a recipe, which soon became guidelines to a random (yet delicious!) brown number. Whaaalaaa!
Here we have a Carob & Mint slice!
I
have personally tasted it and yes, it is good. In this I've used
wholemeal flour, carob powder, grated coconut, vanilla, agave, and a
little raw dense brown sugar in the base. The fudge topping consists of
sweetened condensed milk, 70% cocoa chocolate and a little salt. I added
some sneaky mint slice biscuits crushed up for a little treat!
Give it a try!
Love B xx
